My girlfriend is a computer science graduate. If she studies master of science and philosophy of doctorate in top universities in Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia or Albania and starts and academic career in those countries, can she transfer to a well-known university in UK and resume her academic career there?

It's definitely possible for your girl to transfer her academic career to the UK, but it may not be easy. Here are a few things to consider:
- Universities in the UK will want to see that her degrees are from properly accredited schools that meet their standards. The top universities in the Balkan countries should be fine.
- Her work and research from those schools needs to be high quality and competitive at a UK level. Publishing papers, getting grants, etc will help show that.
- She may need to do some additional training or get UK qualifications like a Master's to bring her qualifications fully in line with their systems.
- Building contacts and relationships with profs at UK schools now could help when applying for roles later. Attending conferences, collaborating on projects virtually.
- Experience teaching or research roles in the Balkans first would make her a stronger candidate versus just having the degrees.
- Top schools may expect candidates from overseas to have quite a few years experience already before moving over.
So it's definitely possible with the right credentials and networking, but may take a multi-step process over a few years. The top unis get a lot of interest. But with hard work she's got a good shot of a fresh start in the UK academia. Just gotta play the long game sometimes!
I am not sure, but she could try places like Imperial College, London or Durham. Of course, with any research degree, she could try Oxford or Cambridge. The latter might be better.
