I don't care about whitewashing or black washing. Whoever brings the best energy do their role should get the part. I could care less about historical accuracy.
I've noticed that those loverly Brits have started using black actors in their TV ads. The next step will be giving them something to say - that's still all white. I reckon it'll happen in about another 10 or so years
People been casting white people only for a long time. That’s why. Only racist have a problem with hiring more black people in movies. Because they’re racist.
Representation matters.
And frankly, it's just fucking movies. Calm down and eat some popcorn.
It's not really the same. Black people barely get any mainstream representation in media outside of the "token black friend" role and other stereotypical roles.
