From public information, its known that there's usually about 1-3 people a week that trespass at the base, the majority of them being detained/questioned and cited with tickets/ hefty fines that follow.
For some more public information involving those who guard the permitter boundaries and gates of the base, they are NOT military, they are an armed contractor security, the company's names have changed over the years but the from original names to now, EG&G, URS, AECOM. But the majority of the world call them "Camo Dudes" because they wear camo with no patches or identifiers. They follow you on BLM land surrounding the base driving their Ford Raptors/ trucks, and they do tend to stay their distance away from those that are near the base gates, but their job is to watch you until you leave, they also have access to FLIR Camera towers, Surveillance equipment with steady range to keep an eye on you 24/7 if you visit the area.
"Area 51" has been dubbed the most classified base in the United States, with rumors of alien technology (thanks to Bob Lazar) and advanced defense technologies such as the A12/SR71/U2/NGAD/B-21 Raider, so why the hell would anyone try to illegally attempt to gain access, knowing full and well you're under surveillance by These guards and sometimes the US Airforce Ghost Squadron when they do flyovers of the area daily with their fully armed HH-60U Ghost Hawk Helicopters.
It surprises me the lack of common sense some people have... its disturbing. Anyway, here are some of the first ever seen body cam footage of some of those investigations at Area 51's Back Gate and Borders.
after the narration on each video they will show the raw bodycam footage where you can hear the conversations, the narrator pitches in every so often.
The guards have never been filmed talking or up-close like this until these bodycam videos have surfaced. They've always been dubbed "mysterious".

Many believe that they deserve access.
I get that.. in my eyes though it’s none of their business to know what’s going on there. For good reason. but Still absolutely nuts that one guy made it 1.6 miles in, those roads are off roading roads nothing but rock in a small sedan, there’s a reason the security have modified supercharged Ford Raptors lol… people are so stupid though, the base itself is 20+ miles away from the gates lol.
Trust me -- I 100% agree with you. As someone who worked on a base every day for 22 years, folks who don't work there don't need to be there. That said, I can tell you that the cost and work to maintain perimeters and do the monitor is staggering.
Yeah they spend what I imagine would be black site operations money, classified project money. Even though google earth doesn’t show all of the actual base, you can see they updated a lot, paved new roads and old roads, added more buildings and updated the Baseball field/recreational center (next to the field) if you look up Mercury Nevada City, that too is linked to “Area 51” it’s the only closed city in America, it connects to the Nevada National Security Site, Area 6 (Drone Airport) the NTTR and Area 51. Supposedly it’s got a hospital, BioWarfare research labs and Department of Energy Assets there. Not to mention a good portion of the Nevada National Security Site is underground (shows some places on their YouTube channel being underground, unclassified areas) I could only imagine how much it cost to bore all that rock out of a mountain. You’re allowed to your there but background checks and what not. Always wanted to visit the sedan crater. https://youtu.be/1XePp3QP0X0
Also that’s badass!
I've been in a number of old and abandoned military complexes, they're cool to see and their history is fascinating. But I do steer clear of active military buildings. I don't get people who poke their noses in those places either. Surely, they must know that they're gonna get caught.
I suppose curiosity gets the better of them. Crazier to me are westerners that go "hiking" in Afghanistan.
Yeah that’s bad too lol
