There were 4 billion people on the planet when I was born, and 8 billion on the planet now. I have done nothing to cause 4 billion people to be born, so why would I feel bad about causing 1 billion to die? Seems like a natural course correction to me. Besides, I never asked to play this game, so I'm not going to feel responsible for whatever results from my parents putting me on this planet to start with.
