Girls who jump from guy to guy?

I just want to make it clear that I'm not interested in her, she's my friend. Ok, so I'm really good friends with this girl, like she calls me her brother kinda close. She's very shy and doesn't have a lot of friends. but the moment a guy shows interest she's all over him.

They'll talk and text for about a week and she'll like only talk to this guy and forget about everyone else. Then the next week she'll like forget about him and everything is normal. THEN another guy will talk to her and she'll stop talking toe everyone and start the whole thing over again..

Why do girls do this? It's annoying to me because she's such a nice girl getting caught up with these random guys and she just forgets about everyone. How can I bring this up, to help her?

Jumping from guy to guy isn't really a problem as much as the being obsessed with him and forgetting/neglecting your friends. I haaaaatttteeee that f. ucking sh. it.

How can you bring it up to her? Just tell her. Hang out and then after a little while just say you want to talk to her about something. Shouldn't be too difficult if you're close. Now, how she reacts... I don't know it depends on the person. You would know that better than we would. If she's very shy, she may actually not like confrontation.

Reasons?

Validation in men, low self esteem/low confidence, the usual. I mean people who are "very shy" often have self-esteem/confidence problems in general and aren't likely to have had a lot of experiences with relationships. You don't need a lot of experience to have sense, but some people are more naive than others or are driven by different feelings.

I mean you said she doesn't have a lot of friends. Maybe she's looking for love and wants to overly-invest in even the possibility of it because she's lacking something in her life. if you don't have a developed, balanced life already, its likely that when that special someone comes along (or anyone who could be him.. maybe) your life will be all about them. Balance is the key and some people don't get that. And if you're so desperate for love (or whatever she wants from them) then you may invest far too much in one person, far too early. classic rookie mistake. I'm guilty of a much less severe case of that. I try to get into someones soul and want to spend a lot of time with them if I see a connection. But I need my friends and family as a constant, I can't ignore them. I get by with a little help from my friends.
