My sister hates my girlfriend, what should I do?

Hello.
Ok my sister and me we were always best friends and we were always doing everything together so staying close with her is very important to me.
We moved out from our parents several years ago and we live together. Iam dating my girlfriend for over a year now and she often hangs out at my sisters and my place. Things were just fine at the beginning, we were all together watching movies or going out doing pretty much everything together. When i got in a relationship with my now girlfriend my sisters behavior changed towards her drastically.

Now she absolutely hates my girlfriend for some reason i dont und. My girlfriend is really always nice to her and she really tries to be her friend but my sister is always mean to her. Also she always talks bad about her when she is not around as well.
Sometimes she fights with me as well saying my girlfriend doesn't deserves me blah blah and she is accusing me of not being around anymore, of changing into a totally different person. I dont think thats true.

I really love my girlfriend she is just amazing in every way so breaking up with her is out of question also i know my girlfriend won't give up on me neither so i just feel bad because my sister is kinda suffering and she is sad most of the time cos of this.
My sister never had a boyfriend and she only has few friends and she doesn't even seem close with them.
Maybe she feels lonely and neglected by me so she acts jealous? What should i do?

Iam 22, my sister is 19 and my girlfriend is 18 yo if that matters.

From what you've described, this seems like a classic case of jealousy to me.

If your sister's never had a boyfriend, and doesn't have a lot of friends, it sounds like you're an emotional crutch for her, and she doesn't like the competition your girlfriend is giving her (in her mind).

I'd say your sister needs to get out more, and that you're doing nothing wrong. I'd be inclined to put a little distance between yourself and your sister. It sounds like she's emotionally dependent upon you to an unhealthy extent.

Nah, she probably feels neglected, observe your own actions when your sister is around. Check if you're really less around your sister, maybe plan some event just for her without girlfriend, or some fix time of the week for her. Check if all of your attention is at your girlfriend when both are present at the same time. Remember yourself to sometimes switch attention to your sister when both are around.

Either your sister is jealous, or your girlfriend did/said something that really invoked ire.

How about instead of asking us rando jackasses you sit your sister down and ask her what's wrong? No judgement, no raised voices, just talking things over.

Ah mate you are right but i did tried to talk with her several times. She just said she *dislikes* my girlfriend and that was all i could get from her.

Then sit her THE FUCK down and tell her you're not going to be happy without a real answer. Spitball some ideas until she opens up, tell her shit like "if ya ain't open with me about it then how can I fix anything?"

It might be a bit harsh on her, but to this point she's kinda not given any other options.

Well I never had a girl friend and don't have very close friends just ok to good friends and I used to feel neglected, sad, angry and all but then I changed and don't give a fuck now for the things I don't have ever had (for some undisclosable reason) but yea people do get sad because they don't have anybody to look for when they need it and over time it might get pilled up

I had the same situation.

Don't listen to a single person that says yo dump her though. This is definitely NOT the solution.

You deserve to be happy and as much as you may love your family, ultimately, not even family has a final say in what you do, or how you obtain your happiness.

Trust me. You don't have to do anything. Be wuth your girl and wait for your sister to grow up.
