im just a server. I don’t have to dance or anything. I just serve drinks and push chairs in. The uniform is a little skimpy.

I would say that it is ultimately up to you. I personally would say having been in that environment enough to know the atmosphere, it depends on the club and clientele you deal with.
Some clubs are full or non nude and sometimes the waitresses can give dances, but like I said it depends. I knew a waitress that went to do dancing instead because the money was better.
The people are hit and miss too. Your fellow workers can be dicks and toxic and some can be sweet. Either way, it depends on your level of tolerance and what you are willing to deal with.
Being a waitress isn't bad, but that can also be the slope to wanting to try the dancing. Temptation is always there, especially with money that can be made. Then you have the risk of drugs, trafficking, etc.
I will say that if you are just doing the waitressing, then okay. If you start to feel the temptation to go further, get out and find a different line of work. Going off what you said here having just getting the nerve to apply for that job alone you had mulled it over before going through with it and getting hired.
My concern reading this is that you come off as prone to caving to temptation and may actually consider the dancing if you saw a chance for more earning potential.
If anything, at least tell your folks that you took the job so they have an idea of where you work should something happen.
Ok. Just made an opinion based on what you gave. You said you contemplated working there for months and just now went through with it. You made your decision, and that's fine. Although regardless of whatever job there is, you still make the decision for the one you want at the end of the day, and in this case you chose the strip club. There are other waitressing jobs and you chose one in this environment. Not judging you by any means, but I guess I was curious to understand why a strip club and why not a restaurant or a regular bar? What was the appeal that won out?
You are just a server. It is not like you are stripping or anything like that. Besides, Strippers are people too. They are just trying to make a living like everybody else. You should tell your parents.
Sometimes we gotta separate ourselves from our parents beliefs and free ourselves to do what we want in life without being afraid of judgement. Christians aren’t supposed to judge
by the way: let me know if diamond and ebony stop by for drinks
And congrats
I would tell them. You are right. It is better to tell them, before someone else does. They will also get over it in time

If you are moving out then you should be fine because you're not living in their house. Also your mom's being judgmental because she forgot she use to be in of the world too. If this is the only job opportunity you have at the time then it is what it is. Just remember your parents are always going to want to see you do better. Just keep it real with them because they are going to have an opinion anyway. We don't know how You're going to effect someone's for the better being that you are a believer. God might need you there to get through to somebody else but you can't get caught up with the people in the environment. If it's just a Job keep It a job anything more than that you're asking for trouble.
Risky business, Sweetpea ! Gotta remember the kind of clientele you are dealing with there, and they "ain't" nice, many of them. They are there to look and probably grope whomever they can get away with groping. Things may be different than in the 'movies' of 'Strip Clubs" but just keep in mind that strip clubs invite the 'lowest common denominator'
Even as a 'server' you have to watch your back.
I am sure there are SOME "nice guys" there but I have only been to one REAL 'strip club" back in my 18-20 days, and DAMN they were seedy as hell. When I go to LA to the airport, there are a bunch of strip clubs on the strip into LAX and believe me the crowd I see hanging around the door and not the types, I would want MY daughter to be around. Don't ever make yourself a 'target' for some asshole.
Honestly, I would not say anything about it until after you move out of their house. Working in a strip club could be a dangerous job. You're leaving work in the early morning hours. Guys will be drunk. I know I'd be set against it if my daughter said she wanted to work in a strip club.
No! You will break their hearts and although they will forgive you, they will always have a broken heart (even after you get a new job).
Please consider your parents. You can get another job someplace else. It's not about whether you are an adult or not. They will be crushed and you telling them won't make it hurt any less.
The purpose of your job is to support the business, which is providing people with sexual enjoyment through stripping. If that job is a bad thing, then you working there is supporting that bad thing, even if you do not strip. So if you are supporting stripping, is that bad? You need to consider that to decide if your job is wrong.
Here's my honest real-world advice:
Go sit in the club as a customer for several hours. Pay attention to all the different females in the club, especially the servers and dancers.
Afterwards, reflect on the types of attention you received and what you saw other girls receive.
Then you need to ask yourself some pretty honest questions about what you want your life to be like. It will change you.
I would think your parents should not judge you cause after all you are just being a server and pushing chairs in and i think it's so wrong for a parent to judge their sibling and hold this job over their heads you are age 21 so you are Adult
Starts skimpy , and then topless. I agree with your parents. I would just not answer questions about you. When people ask what you are doing or how you are. I would say doing something and act like you were in a state far away. When you called or came by house I would try not to be there.
waitresses are topless and don't dance
Thats a tough one. You are an adult and have to do what feels right to you. But be prepared to live with the consequences. I work as a dancer myself and my choice was not to let my family know anything about my sideline. Its none of their business.
Who cares what your parents think of your choice job, remember you already said you are officially grown now to make your own decisions. But if you really want to explain to your parents try to be subtle about your job to your mom and dad.
Yes. It could be dangerous, especially if you're American, and you don't want to burn bridges unless you have to
Strip clubs only hire pretty girls because they know most of them will see the kind of money the dancers make and end up on the pole themselves.
Your mom probably know that but doesn't want you to know she knows.
Yes tell them I want to work there as a server too cuz it has big salary and you don't need to be half naked so
Dude don’t work around these people. They’re immoral and most likely into drugs. Bad crowd to be around.
Nothing wrong with it, you may actually learn a lot about people because that's where most people go contrary to what they tell you here.
I don’t think that would end well if you told them.
I think you should and if your parents are going to talk about how its' sinful, ask them to read the bible and look what kind of sinners Jesus interacted with.
To be honest i see your moms point of view as i am a father and t firmly believe you have far more potential than doing that. As a parent we ALWAYS want the best for our children
I think she should hear it from you rather than someone else. It would make things easier whatever the fallout might be. Not saying there will be just helping to keep it in mind
I don't think they will be happy with it so keep it secret
You will eventually dance when you see all of that cash.
Don't think they will be happy. My mother wasn't when said I worked in strip club bar in college
They'll find out eventually. Better to hear it first hand, than second hand
I hope you eventually do turn in to a s tripper. They earn more, trust me. And you always sort of seemed like that sort of girl on here, anyway
i guarantee you, you will want to be
yes you do, and you will
Because I know what you want
It’s completely your life. Hopefully once you do tell her, she respects your decision.
Nope do tell them they'll only worry and stress you out about it
Remind her of the people that Jesus chose to associate with and those closest to him...
Probably not. Why did you wanna work there?
Yeah, I think you should.
No. Firstly tell and show something here
No do not tell them lol
Maybe not. I think your Mom will be upset.
Up to you but honestly it's a legit job
I’d keep it a secret
Message me
yeah
