Did you meet any of your great-grandparents?

I didn't meet any ;(
My two olders brothers met one great grandfather (dad's mom's dad), but he died when they were really young so they don't remember much about him.

I'd have loved to meet any of my grandparents, and I love four-generations pics so it would be a plus.

The great grandfather my brothers met and other (mom's mom's dad) are said to be respected by everyone who knew them, really correct people and with great moral values.

One of my first cousin once removed (f17) has been really lucky, she currently has alive her great grandmother (my grandmother), and a great grandfather (from the other side of her family), but in total she met 4, but she's totally indifferent towards them. One second cousin (m22) has his 95-year-old great grandmother, but he never visits her even tho they live less than 3 blocks apart from one another.

If I could meet someone 4 generations above me, I'd be extremely happy, and I'd talk with them non-stop. It's a shame my cousins doesn't appreciate the fact that they've had their ancestors alive while they're capable of fully knowing them (not the case of my brothers that they were really young and can't remember much about him) but not caring about it.

So, did you meet any great grandparent? What side of your family? Were you close to him/her? How old were you when he/she died?

Yes. As a child, my great grandfather and my great grandmother (on my mother's side) were living. My great grandfather died when I was 11 or 12, but my great grandmother lived for several for years. They were very nice people.

Two of them- my father's father's parents. Not for very long; they died when I was nine, but I had a while. As is the way of great-grandparents, though, they were three generations above me, not four.

My great grandmother from my mom's side. She died when i was in 9th grade. She was 95.
I remember teaching her when i was small. My grandmother wasn't in good terms with her

My great grandma outlived my grandma but ten years so yes, she was 102 when she passed and I was close with her.

No, All 4 of my grandparents came over on the boat so even if they were alive after I was born I would not have the opportunity.

Yeah, I met my great-gradma. I've had her for quite a long time actually. She died in 2020, at the age of 92. I was at her funeral.

Well, the second cousin of my second cousin (who's also kind of my boss) has 25 and his great grandma still living. That must be a record
