Why do girls stop being friends with guys?

I got really friendly with two girls after being introduced by a friend from college. Over time we grew really close and became important in each other’s lives.

One day one of the asked me for a loan and I gave it too them ($30 I think) and I had no problem with that. But then later that night the two of them were asking me if I liked them and that it made them feel uncomfortable because they thought I wanted to get with one of them.

We haven’t spoken in a month now and they both have removed me from their private Snapchat stories but haven’t removed me as a friend on any social media. One of them drunk snapped me after two weeks and ignored my reply.

I’m not sure if they still want too be friends, I really miss them but don’t know what too say too them.

Did you tell them that you liked them in that way or not? It’s not nice to cut you off like that, but in a lot of cases guys are only friends with girls that they want to get with, and that can be upsetting for girls who are looking for genuine friends - it can be a bit discouraging when you realise that people only started speaking to you because they found you attractive or thought they had a shot

They are both good looking but I’m happy being friends with them, when I met them one had a boyfriend and the other was trying too get with my friend. They’ve told me a few times that I mean so much too them and that made me feel good and I told them I think the wold of them.

Text them something like: Hey, its been so long, was wondering if you wanted to hang out as I feel you might be avoiding me?
Be direct but nice about it.
