Would you make the right choice even if it means losing your friends, losing it all?

This is my story:
I was in my senior year of HS at the time. Someone was about to be unfairly expelled and I knew my then friends were lying about it. It was about framing someone for harassment and stealing.

Guilt took over and I ended telling the truth and showing a recording of my friend and 3 other girls trying to convince me to frame someone. I ended up losing their friendship, my own reputation as one of the popular girls, getting bullied by them and it was a lonely school year for me.

Would you would have the right choice even if it means losing your friends and popular rep? Basically you lose it all just for telling the truth and saving someone innocent from a false accusation.

I couldn't live with the guilt of someone getting in trouble for something they didn't do. But I still lost a lot by telling the truth. To continue being in the popular crowd, I was suppose go along with their plan.
