Am I in the wrong? Family troubles?

I lent £150 to my step mum the other day and I’m certain she said she gets paid today. So I politely messaged asking if she could transfer it over and she got mad. Apparently, she gets paid in another week and I even apologised for getting the wrong day. And even when I did ask for it, I was polite, I wasn’t demanding at all.

Anyway, she got really defensive and She said “it’s only been three days and your already asking for it back” and called me unbelievable. Despite the fact I even apologised if I got the day wrong and it wasn’t like I was demanding it at all. Apparently she’s also angry at me for telling my dad, but I only told him because I was going to let her keep some of it as a gift and I said him to she can just give some of it back.

I’m really upset about it and she hasn’t apologised at all, she’s convinced I’m in the wrong. What do guys think? Because I feel like it’s my fault

My advice would be to say nothing further and wait and see what happens.

If she does not repay this in a reasonable time, then sadly put it down to experience, and if and when she might ask again, then politely refuse, reminding her of this occasion.

My father ended up giving me the money instead and I honestly wouldn’t have mind waiting next week. But I’m still upset with her attitude as I didn’t think she was like that

Well what a damn decent honest father you have, and it's a very sad reflection of life that sometimes you never know someone until they show their true colours.

Yeah, he is a good man. And agreed. I think was more upset the fact I didn’t expect her to react like that. It’s definitely affect my relationship with her and I’ll know now to keep my disrsncr
