My boyfriend got me used shoes for my birthday I appreciate them since he could have got them at value village but my mom thinks it's disrespectful since they are used and dirty I think it's the thought that counts now she dosen't want me to get anything for his birthday. What do you guys think? Is my mother wrong? My mom thinks it's his sister used shoes lol like I appreciate it regardless

I just think he really couldn't afford a gift and he didn't mean to disrespect you in any way, but if you felt disrespected , then that should be given another thought

I think that you are a sweet girlfriend to him and it's okay that you appreciate your boyfriend's gift. Perhaps it's not the best but he gave you a gift and if you are happy about that then give those shoes a good cleaning and wear them with pride.
