Which one of us is in the wrong?

  • My boyfriend planned a last-minute vacation to see his family, who live four hours away from us.
  • I was hesitant about going because I didn't have any PTO left at work, and if I went, I'd miss a community event I volunteered for.
  • He begged me to go and said he'd pay me the money lost for missing work (which he did do).
  • We took two cars because I got held up at work.
  • We carpooled with his brother and sister-in-law to drive an hour away to shop. He asked if we could take my car because I have the largest car. I said that was fine; he drove it and paid for the gas.
  • When we stopped at the gas station, he came back to the car with a jelly donut.
  • I got annoyed because we've been together two years; he knows I don't allow anyone, including myself, to eat in my car. I also feel it's also common courtesy not to eat in front of other people without offering them something.
  • I told him how I felt when we got back to the hotel room. He told me it's stupid that I don't let people eat in my car and that if I wanted a donut, I could have gotten one myself.
  • He then turned the hotel keys in and took off. I had no choice but to drive home, so I missed the volunteer event and drove eight hours total for nothing.
