Why is my best friend so protective of me?

She’s a senior in college at a university. I have a learning disability. She’s over protective of me. She doesn’t want me traveling by myself to a large city by myself on a train. How do I make her less protective? She told me she would be nervous if I traveled by myself. I’m 30 she’s 21 I’m not in college yet.
