Did your parents tell you they loved you growing up?

My dad had said he used to tell us frequently but mom told our dad to stop saying he loved us too much because she thought it would eventually turn me and my 2 brothers gay.. and when I asked her about it she just said he must of taken it out of context. And then I came out as bisexual to both of them - it was hard for me but they seemed to of already had an idea that it had been bothering me, keeping it all bottled inside.
