Is mother actually complaining for nothing?

Sometimes she complains over the same thing. She always says my father isn't too romantic, only dedicated her one song and doesn't say ''I love you'' too much.

My father's reply to all her years of complaining were:

Well you knew me like that didn't you?

You got marriage, a house and two kids from me. What more do you want?

My father still surprises her on her b-day, still takes her out on restaurants sometimes and is spontaneous. He just isn't and never was the ''you're the love of my life'' expressive type nor the type that sings songs on the doorstep (none of the romantic scenes on movies). He doesn't believe in any of that.

Personally, I think she is. Like he said, she knew what he was like before they got married. He really doesn't sound that bad, and sounds like he hasn't changed it all since before they are married, so she doesn't really have much right to complain. But that's just my opinion based on the limited information I've gotten.

I know what type of man my mother would've wished for and it's not worth it. I've been with a lying (narcissist) lovebomber that promised everything, supposedly claimed to have done all for me... but he didn't give me the most important thing I wanted: commitment (marriage and kids). That means he did NOTHING for me. I wasted years for nothing. What's the point of a very romantic man that promises you the moon and the stars if he lied about wanting marriage? That was the worst experience I've ever had.

It's interesting. My father promised nothing nor lovebombed her either but he gave her commitment and a family... meanwhile I was lovebombed too much and he gave me nothing but false, empty promises.

yet I'd rather have what my mother got instead of a lovebomber that promises everything but never gives commitment. Wasting time on nothing but empty promises and a liar is worse to me.
Liars and lovebombers give what any man can give... passion, lust and empty promises of marriage and kids. After all it's free and cost nothing
Meanwhile few men give what my father gave: commitment and a family since it costs.
