What should I do about my mom's behavior (Long story)?

So I don't drive so my mom takes me to pick up and drop off my son to preschool. Unfortunately she enjoys having this kind of control and upper hand and uses it to her advantage. She always talks about me to the teachers saying how irresponsible I am with my kid but yet she does nothing to help me with him, she doesn't watch, play, feed him, sleep or cloth him. She does the bare minimum but of course bc she gets to take him to school she feels like she does so much. I'm pretty sure the teachers also believe every word she says about me. So now she gets to be perceived as the "overworked' grandma who does everything for the child. If she was really as overworked as she says my child would be perfect and there would be nothing to complain about. I'm irresponsible bc I'm a 1st time single mom and no one taught me how to raise a child I'm doing it on my own. Not even she could get out of her ego to show me how do things. But I think I'm a good mom, not the best but I do try. I just wanna know what I should do.. I want people to know the truth about me not just what my mom wants them to believe

It sounds like you need to organize your life, save your money, pay off your debt, enroll in driving license class, practice your driving, and start driving again. Enough with the excuses if you want to be rid of your current environment. You should be able to accomplish this by next May without any problem...

Either learn to drive or work towards overcoming your fear of being behind the wheel. Trust me I know it’s easier said that done, I haven’t driven since I was 19 after a car crash that really shook my up, and driving gives me crazy anxiety so I rely on my mom as my transportation. But if I were in your position I think it’d be motivation enough to push myself and drive.

I agree but the thing about that is I don't make enough to afford a car and I also don't have my license atm. Years before I had a kid I ended up getting a DUI and so my license was suspended so now it needs to be renewed and I have to pay off the dang 2k$ ticket for that still. Which really sucks but that's why I haven't tried doing this.

Oh man, the DUI is no joke. Do you work at all? Because if so I would say to start socking away cash for the ticket if you haven’t already. Big ticket items like cars take some time to save up for as well, but you do get there eventually. Would your mom allow you to use her car here and there once you have a license?
