Is the love of a child enough to overcome your own fears?

My fears are the ocean, spiders and heights. Anything but those 3. I'm a good swimmer but no way I'm diving on a deep ocean where my feet doesn't touch the floor and there is nothing to grab on. I tend to panic fast if I can't touch the floor. Spiders send me screaming, esp a tarantula or other huge ones. I can't imagine getting touched by one. Lastly, heights... no, just no. I can't climb without looking down.

So if I had a child and these hypothetical situations happen:

- He/she swam a bit far, their feet isn't touching the floor and is asking for help. The only way would be for me to dive in and get him/her.

- He/she is screaming because two tarantulas are there and is saying ''get them off, help''. The only way to calm him/her would be to get them with my hands and toss them aside.

- He/she is trapped at a height, even though they can come back down... they have fear of heights too and is asking for help. The only way would be to get him/her myself even if that means I have to climb there too.

Whenever I tell my friends and relatives those 3 fears, they keep saying the day I have my own child, I won't even recognize those fears, that I would overcome them for my child. Would the love of a child be enough to really get rid of my phobias?
