Are friends who post or spread bad pictures of you true friends?

Do you think that friends who purposefully post ugly pictures of you online are true friends? My "friend" posted an ugly picture of me on her instagram after she promised not to, and now everyone (including my crush and my ex) has seen it. She's got a huge following and chose the ugliest picture she could possibly post. I've asked her to take it down, and she won't. Do you think these people are true friends? Would you be annoyed if your friend did it to you?

Also, friends who spread bad pictures of you. I had a "friend" once go around our social circle physically showing people an unflattering picture of me, and would encourage them to laugh at it and make fun of me. She did it with multiple guys also.

I had a friend tell me to delete a photo of her sitting on a chair... her face wasn't shown.
She asks me to remove it and I think I did a day or so. It had nothing to do with her. We were partying hard and that was the result.
I adored her my intentions would to never to make her look bad. Shit we were 21 and partying hard.
Now... if I posted a photo of her face or even body that she didn't like I'd absolutely take it down for sure. If i kept it up that's disrespectful and she deserves a better friend then me

No, unless they did it without thinking or it's not as bad a picture as you think. We are usually our own worst self-critics so sometimes it's not actually that bad. Also, some people don't think about how others look in a pic before posting.

However, I truly believe that some friends/women do this to each other on purpose. Like, they want you to look bad (jealousy?) and/or are trying to embarrass you. You can tell what your friend's motivations are by asking them to take the picture down. If they don't comply or at least crop you out, I would question the friendship. They clearly don't care that much about your feelings.
