Why do people get so offended that you don’t have children in your late 20s and early 30s?

The biggest thing that I’ve realized you never really ready for a child but you don’t want to just have a child out of nowhere. Children are a blessing and never a mistake but they do feel whatever you feel towards the situation that puts them there in the first place.

You want to be somewhat prepared. That means prepare to give your life to them, and actually be able to focus on.

I'm not offended if you don't have kids. But I disagree with those who say earlier generations were fed propaganda as if it was a bad things for hetero families to exist and produce lots of kids. It was one of the foundations of civilization. Everything the "I'm non-binary" and "I know what's best for the world because my feelings tell me stuff" crowd do wouldn't even be possible without the many hetero families that were our ancestors. And it turns out that if you want long term stability as a society you need that too. 85% of the people in prison come from single mom homes. This is fact. Not feelings. It's not good to undo every ancient tradition just to make ourselves feel good.

People get offended by you making life choices that are the complete opposite of their own sometimes because it casts doubt on their own choices. Especially if the reason they didn't make the choice you did works out for you and not do good for them.

Because some people think that everyone should have babies. But truth is, not everyone can or wants to have & raise them. It's really like anything else society has for us. Don't date when you're younger? Some people will think you're sad and wasting your life by not doing so, even if you're happy. But the best thing to remember is that there's a lot to do in life, so nothing is wasted. Even simple things can make people happy daily.

Because society loves to push people to do things fast according to their standards but that’s not how things work.. my cousin didn’t have a baby till she was like 29 or 30 and that’s also because she was still getting financially stable, had other priorities then she met her now husband when she was 26.

Because some people, especially older generations who were fed propaganda about nuclear families, etc. can't or won't understand the complexities that exist with becoming pregnant, giving birth, raising kids, and maintaining a livable existence in this world, at this point in time.

The younger generations are stressed, tired - beyond that - we're freaking exhausted and we're struggling just to exist. Many of us are drowning in debt, have numerous fears and medical / mental health concerns due to any number of items (gun control, systemic racism, school shootings, Black woman mortality rates, student loan debt, anti-abortion legislation, Republicans, etc.) This is a quick version of why we're hesitant on having kids. And for the most part, these are items of concern that some groups of people refuse to see as concerns.

People feel entitled to women's bodies and autonomy to the point that exercising our right to live our lives the way we want is considered pathological.

Also the fact that many parents project their own misery from having children. Almost like trying to convince themselves that they wouldn't have it any other way although they know damn well that they absolutely would if they could.

My husband got shit for having a kid "too young," my dad's girlfriend gets shit for having one "too old," my sister gets shit for wanting "too many," my other sister gets shit for wanting none! If I had to hazard a guess, it's because social security requires a large number of young people to pay into it so that a small number of older people can take out of it. And with peopleliving longer and healthcare getting more expensive, there is less and less money in the "untouchable box" wherein the SS money is kept, which is only made worse by politicians looting it as they please for pet projects. That's called a ponzi scheme. Also, in order to provide the soldiers and workers that a country needs to be and stay successful, that requires almost all its women to have children. International conflicts ultimately come down to whoever has the most babies wins, and For the 1st time in human history Society no longer expects young women to have children, despite its entire social political and economic infrastructure being built around orders of magnitude more babies than retirees. People who worked hard their entire life paying into building and maintaining that system are understandably a bit salty when subsequent generations do not.
