I know this is a sad question but this has never happened to me before and I want to prepare.
I have lost people I'm fond of like my younger sister's good friend from drug overdose and my supervisor from a fire, but they weren't traumatic experiences for me.

There nothing you can do to prepare for it. But the good news is, you'll deal with it a lot better than you think you will now.
There's a lot of mental blocking that goes along with it lol.
It's a pain unlike anything you've ever felt, especially if it's a tragic and unexpected loss, but there's a sort of comfort that goes along with it, and you don't want the pain to go away. At least that's how it is for me.

Thank you for your openness and it's unfortunate that you had to experience that. I am curious why she did it though. Would you mind going into more detail? I am sure it must've been difficult for you.
