Should I tell my friend how I feel about her even if she lives in another state?

We’ve been friends for a few years but lately things feel different between us. Things changed when I last saw her a year ago and since then our texts have seemingly become more and more flirty. She’s cool and beautiful and honestly could have any guy she wants. I’m still not 100% sure if this is just all in my head, I’d hate to lose our friendship cause of my delusion. What would you do in my situation? Tell her over the phone or do something else?

Personally I’d want to be asked first. If a guy is my friend I would be really caught off guard for him to invite me somewhere and it’s actually a date lol because what if I don’t feel the same? Then it’s awkward..

@HollyK21 alright thats true. I guess he could end the sentence with the "🙂" smiley and if she reacts he can say he meant a friendly date.
