Is this domestic violence?

My friend helped let his bestfriend of ten years and her kid live with him. Because she was going through a difficult time and he felt sorry for her. And then she assaulted him in his own house how could a person do this?

He kept telling me how he wanted to help her because he's known her for a long time. He even said they were bestfriends I just don't understand it. He's going through a difficult time himself he's helping see about his sick mother with Cancer and then she does this. I don't understand it.

She was living with him since January and a couple of months before this happened he was telling me how she was being rude to him. And how she was treating him. And I told him that I thought it was nice that he was trying to help her. But that he should think about himself and that it wasn't good for him to be going through all that. He said that everyone he asked told him not to let her move in with him.

Does assault mean she actually hit him?

Yes, it is. Just because she isn't his partner doesn't mean it's not domestic violence. domestic violence can take different forms. I personally wouldn't be calling a person who takes my kindness for granted or treating me like this a friend regardless of how long our friendship is. I don't know if her kid is what making him not want to kick her out.

Assault is physical abuse. It doesn't necessarily mean she hit him it could have been pushing, throwing something at him or spitting on him. Hitting would be battery though.

Yeah that's abuse whether she hit him or not. Could be emotional and verbal abuse.
