My parents bought our house 20 years ago and now it’s worth 5 times more than what they paid for it, but they bought it with two elite pay cheques and lots of investments from previous years. So if I want the exact same lifestyle as my parents as a single person, I would have to earn 10 times more money than either one of my parents at the time I move out to buy my own property. I believe this is possible, but not sure it’s possible within the next year or so.
My parents were broke and frankly still are given they have one had investments, both only have state incomes and one of them has outstanding debts
Meanwhile I'm debt-free, starting to look at investments and actively refuse the state income I'm allowed to claim
For me money is easy, it's one of few things I really understand from history to present day even ideas about what may happen in the future

Housing costs over the past generation in many areas have far outstripped the increases in wages and salaries.
No. The currency values may have changed, but the prices now were the equivalent of the ones then. It was just as harder to earn the money.
