How can I repay the people who adopted me?

Whenever me and my adoptive parents fight they would bring up how because of them I wouldn't be here today. They said to pay them all of expenses they spent on me when they adopted me. I live in Asia and I calculated it its about $60,000 or more all from birth. But then again those people are not really not nice at all too they would always bring that up whenever we fight. And that Im not allowed to die or get sick because I haven't paid all they spent on me meaning I should have paid it before I die. Also they always insult me emotionally abused me calls me fat , dumb and just insult everything about me. My adoptive mother also hit me ever since I was a kid and if I didn't attend church too she would hit me too and call me daughter of Satan. Im just sad and confused I live in a country where children supposed to pay back their parents for taking care of them. They helped me with my college tuition and graduated but how can I pay all of that? Im guilt that If I didn't pay them then I will be called ungrateful but then I always remember they are not that good parents too.

If they call you fat, dumb, and insist you have to pay them back, then they don't deserve you paying them back at all. Just drop contact with them.

you dont have to pay them - they made a choice to adopt you. you are correct they are not good parents. though never perfect a parent no matter if they gave birth or chose adoption are to love and care for you, provide for you. save your money up and run like hell, cut them out of your life.

you dont have to pay them if that is not requested by law no matter what they say, just say yeah to them but dont think about doing it. If its any comfort your parents dont seem that much different from parents that their biological children have... parents aren't perfect often times...

Thats not how adoption works not normal person would ask or expect this from a child they adopted this is some crazy toxic behaviour u didn't ask them to adopt u you are not responsible for that choice
