Do you think these parents are really that strict?

Some of the parents on this show I will say are a little out there and a bit on the extreme. But most of them seem pretty cool and not even that strict. They just have rules and boundaries.

I would argue that the parents of these horrible kids on the show. Just refuse to raise their kids the right way and let them get away with literally anything they want to. Until they get older and don’t know what to do with them anymore.

Based just on that, yes. The kids seemed very cooperative, the parents seemed calm, and I don't know how long they were going to be staying there (whether this is one of those "24 hours" shows or if it's an adoption/permanent situation) AND I'm glad they at least were able to compromise on the haircut.

But any "forced haircut" if it's not for the kids own health, is 100% strict parenting. And making the other one take their piercings out, that can make the holes close if they're out too long. Kids don't always have much autonomy, but the closest to them is how they choose to present their own bodies. Taking that away is stupid, it only hurts the kids and your relationship with them.

Well that video is all I had to go on. I've just never met someone who was forced to get a haircut or wear/not wear makeup/piercings as a kid who also had a good relationship with their parents as an adult. And my own parents used to force me to get haircuts and didn't allow any piercings or makeup, so I'm also just biased against those rules personally. Although as I said, those parents did seem very calm about it and they were willing to compromise, so I have to give them some credit for that at least. I'm sure they aren't nearly as bad as they could be. But I still think they are very strict.
