How do I tell an Inmate to stop calling?

Anonymous

My son’s father and I broke up well before I gave birth to our son and he hasn’t been in his life whatsoever. My son recently turned 1 this September so I decided to reach out to his other grandparents being they never knew about me giving birth to their first grandchild. They were super supportive, accepting and has show so much love and support to me and my son since meeting them. They explained to me that his father has been in jail since January and doesn’t know when he’s going to get out. He has multiple charges 1) Deadly conduct discharge of a firearm 2) Evading arrest with vehicle and 3) Attempting to take a weapon from an officer ….

His family told me how he gave his life to God in there and that he wants to be in my sons life etc Out of feeling sorry for them I chose to accept his collect call to hear what he had to say.

Long story short I just don’t find it necessary to speak to him right now. I feel like i’m fine with only building my own personal relationship with his parents while he’s there and allowing them to help me with our son as well as my parents until he’s out.. I’m not saying I don’t want him apart of our son’s life but it’s uncomfortable try to force these conversations with him that’s not even about our son.. He calls his parents a lot already especially while our son is over their house so it’s not like he doesn’t get to hear his voice and know what he’s been up to since they tell him but I have nothing to really say to him but that I wish him the best.

How can I politely ask him to stop calling verse just ignoring the jail calls and his family questioning why?
