I’ve noticed the past year that children act up more in public, I’m not sure why. But it has been a lot worse this year. A few months ago, I was in a shop and waited for a parent and her child to go to another section before I went to the spot they were at as it was a small store and I didn’t want to be rude. Once they went somewhere, I went to that spot, the mums child comes back and physically tried to push me out of the way.
Today, I was in a queue in a shop and someone’s child kicked me because she was upset she had to wait and she tried to do it again and her parents lifted her from the ground, I didn’t say anything, I just looked at them and the parent apologised to me but I was mortified. I get children have their moments etc, I’ve seen them act like l that towards their parents but I’m just stunned that it’s now becoming allowed to hit and be nasty to strangers minding their business. How would you react?

it's because parents don't want to parent anymore. they don't really know how. these are kids of the pandemic too, they will be extremely messed up in the coming years. they don't really know what's right or wrong in public anymore because of the years of isolation.
I get that. But they shouldn’t expect strangers to look after them because it isn’t safe and you don’t know who they are,. And I agree Covid has messed everything up. But I think everybody has to be mindful of eachother. E. g. I know the mum may be struggling and her kid screaming and upsetting her in front of others is stressful but the mum should also consider the stranger may have be struggling with something too, and it’s about being aware of everyone. The kid that hit me, her mum apologised and I could she was struggling so I didn’t say anything but if for example if she didn’t apologise and didn’t care then I’d be annoyed and would say something.
So it depends on the person. I just wanted to know what others would have done in the situation I guess
I saw such a situation in London. More or less 7-year-old boy was screaming not nice things to the older lady. And she just called for police :D I think he didn't believe her, so the police just came and took him to his parents :D I assume it wasn't a pleasant conversation
That’s crazy. Makes you wonder how they treat their parents behind closed doors 😅 I should have said something but at the same time you can’t say anything these days but the mum said sorry!
