Guys what would you think if your child doesn't look like you but it is yours?

What would think in this scenario:

Your kid looks absolutely nothing like you. You already took both DNA and paternity test but both tests matches and the result is positive. You are the father even though the kid is different from you.

What would you think in that case? This happened to someone my friend's older brother. The boy looks nothing like him but both exams still shows matches his DNA and the paternity said 99.99 positive.

Before the tests, he really thought it can't be his child but the exams showed otherwise. He has no clue how his kid has different features from him. Him and his kid are literally like water and oil.

Looking at my parents, brothers & immediate cousins / aunts / uncles.

I'm blonde > nobody in the family is
I have grey eyes > nobody has an eye color that can be called light (dark blue, green, brown & hazel).
I have curly hair > nobody in the family does, the closest is loose "wavy" hair
I neither burn nor tan > everyone else either burns or tans darkly in the summer
My eyes are "Asian" > they're not, it's epithelial folds which can be found amongst Eastern Europeans & remote Irish or Scottish. Nobody in the family has these.

I'm 100% my parents' kids. DNA tested & all.

I look like an exact carbon copy of my mother's mother's mother who was born in the teeny village of Kilronan

One of my neighbors was dark skinned and black hair. Her daughter didn't look at all like her mom. The baby had lilly white skin, blue eyes, orange freckles and bright orange hair.
Even her mom had a hard time believing she gave birth to a baby that looked nothing like her, but came out of her body.

yeah genes are wild. They managed to trace back who the boy resembles. He looks like the exact male version of his mother's great-great grandmother; recessive genes from far back. Wow

First of all, blood doesn't make them family, it just makes them related. Which quite honestly doesn't mean that much.
But if two different tests didn't satisfy his concerns about who the biological father was, thank nothing is going to. Not because the results aren't valid, it's because he (for whatever reason) doesn't want to be the father.
It could be he's not ready, or it could be something more complex like he feels guilty for something he did before the child was born. It's tough to say exactly what his issue is without hearing more information from him, but you can be pretty sure he's using the difference in appearance as his excuse to keep his distance.

I didn't really see a lot of the resemblance between my son and me until I was on a conference call at work a few months ago. I glanced over to one of my computer screens and saw my side profile and only then saw it, mostly in the facial structure.

It's wild but rare. I knew a guy that was short and his wife wasn't tall either. They had 2 regular size sons and a Chewbacca. Chewbacca took a DNA test because he was tired of subconsciously thinking his mom was trash for cheating on his dad.. it was his dad and his mother was a Saint.

Yeah it's crazy how genes work. The boy resembles the male version of his mother's great-great grandmother. The lady has been dead for a long time and she never got to see anyone in the family looking like her, none.

If he has proof that it’s his child then it’s his child whether it looks like him or not , the baby probably resembles more of the mother’s traits , or the baby resembles a family member from either his side or the mom’s side , it sounds to me this guy doesn’t want to be a father by trying to convince himself that he is not the father. He does loves his child. He just was clueless on why the boy doesn't have any of his traits and doesn't look like the mother either. The found the answer though. He resembles his mother's great-great grandmother. Still... that's so far back.

Nothing you can do and one of my daughters doesn’t look anything like me, but she definitely is my daughter, and it really doesn’t matter that she doesn’t look anything like me because it just make her more unique

Genetics can be weird.

Both my father and my mother are blonde, blue-eyed, and fair. I'm dark-haired, dark-eyed and almost look Mediterranean. And yet I'm 100% their child (got DNA tested).

The opposite happened in the boy's case. The mother is olive skin (between light and dark brown), black hair and dark eyes. The father is only just a bit lighter than the mother, dark brown hair and dark eyes.
The boy came is white with freckles, intense blue eyes and flaming, orange-red hair. The boy only resembles a male version of the mother's long deceased great-great grandmother who had the same features. That's so far back.. yeah so weird.

It wouldn't bother me at all. Still my child. As long as he or she is healthy (and mine), we're all good. Nothing else really matters. And if they're not healthy (but still mine), then we'll work on it and do what we can to take care of my child.

Every boy does not look exactly like his father and some look quite different from their family. That is just the way genetics works.

yeah there is no living relative in the family with flaming, red hair, freckles, very white and intense blue eyes. The gene got traced back to the mother's great-great grandmother. The boy is like a male version of her. Imagine that... so far back.

Nope he has no twin brother and the exams showed he's the father. If it helps, the boy doesn't look like the mother either.

It doesn't have to look like either of you, but it could look like your grandfather when he was a boy. I've seen some girls who looked like their grandmother's pic when she was a girl.

Nope. Two different clinics can't be faking exams. If both say positive then that's what it is.
