I'm 19 and the guy I like and I'm relatively quite good friends with is 23. But, he often calls me a kid- Does he not like me like I want him to?

So we became close really really quickly and he often has made sure to tell me "I like your company, you know?" and also mentioned that he doesn't like the fact that he's getting attached to me. We are good friends though we didn't meet long ago. But I shouldn't have fallen like I did.

But being older, he often refers to me as a KID. I do not know how to feel about that. I'm usually the baby of any group since I am always relatively the younger one. But this doesn't feel the same... I feel like he's trying to call me immature and young.

I know for a fact that he'd tell me anything (including if I'm being annoying) to my face. But I don't know how to feel about being called a kid in the exact words "you're a kid, you know."

I've sensed mixed signals but I do not know if he truly likes me and I do not want him to know that I do. But how do I know if he's being insulting and friendly by calling me "a kid?"

Will he never like me in the other way? and if he does see me as a kid, how do I change that perspective?
