Why does ex try and put up a front?

Why does my ex try to put on a front that he is all tough and doesn't need me to his guy friends when I can tell he still cares about me just by the way he looks at me? He told my one guy friend that he is friends with that he is so much happier without me and to tell me to stop trying. so that's what I'm gonna do. Do you think he will come around or am I just hoping and holding on for no reason? we dated for over a year you can't just be over someone so quickly

Oh Sweetheart, Men sometimes have to big of an ego his guy's friend's are probably telling him that your no good for him blah blah and he's just saying to his friends ya bro she isn't, just so his " guy friends " don't give him s*** ( it's man pride thing I don't get it) but deep down he still care's for you and misses you and just doesn't know how to act so he's doing it immature way. I would just give it time and if he calls you or text you then hey that's great! but I would just give it time :)

i can't be sure. but it just sounds like he doesn't want to admit he still wants to be with you, its justv his male pride and I know you may not like to hear this but his stupid selfish pride may prevent him from going back to being with you, but the again if he loves you he might swallow his pride and come back to you hope this hellped if not I'm a failure

yeah I think he doesn't want to admit it either. I mean we were pretty serious I don't think you can just decide one day your done. I guess we will see it's only been 3 weeks but it seems like a lifetime.

um. because guys are stereotyped into being strong and unemotional... so basically, he probably still likes you, but puts on a front like this to avoid you, and thinks its for the better.

yeah thanks! guys definitely are like that too. I wish they could just talk about their feelings openly he is very emotional so this is weird he is being so distant.
