Guy best friend cuddling/spooning me?

So I had a co-ed sleepover a few days ago. It was one of my girl friends and two of our guy best friends. One of them is my ex, who has said before he doesn't want us to go out again, which is why I'm am currently confused. At around midnight, we were all watching a movie and he laid his head in my lap. I did not think too much of it because he was probably just tired. It eventually switched to me sitting next to him with his arm around me and my head on his chest (the position he was using was hurting my legs and I asked if we could switch). Everyone went to bed after the movie was over because we were going to Disneyland in the morning and had to wake up early. He slept in front of the couch where I was supposed to be, but I ended up laying next to him on the floor. He told me he was a big spooner and would probably grab me because he was used to having a pillow next to him. Throughout the night he did a few things: 1. Put his arm around my waist and neck, had his chin on my shoulder, and we held hands for a little bit 2. At around 4 am I woke up and he had put a pillow on my back and laid on it. In the morning when we were all trying to get ready to leave I came into the living room to get my toothbrush and makeup bag and he pulled me onto the floor and put his arm around me, saying he was tired. Throughout the day at the park he did little things: wanting to sit next to me on rides (often switching seats with one of our friends if they were in the middle), taking funny pictures of me which he never does to any of us, and at around dusk we went on the submarine ride and he put his arm around me. Every ride we went on after that, we just cuddled. It kept happening from the one ride all the way to when we dropped him off at home. I don't know if maybe he was just really tired and was really comfortable around me or if something's starting up again?

I don't really think there's anything weird about those things if he's ur best friend.

He's never done this before, though. Not since we were dating. The closest thing he ever did was last year we were at Knotts Scary Farm for his birthday (he ended it in May 2016 and this was in October, so we were no longer together by this time) and at around 2 am he was barely awake and was using me for support so he wouldn't fall onto the ground. He had his arm around me for a little while but nothing else happened that caught my attention.

But the reason behind him never doing that after u guys broke up might have been that he was scared you'd ask him to back off, since he was the one who broke up with you.

But he told me a few weeks ago he liked someone. I know who she is and I assumed during the two days I was with him that surely she would be mentioned, but she never came up in conversation.

But then why has he said he doesn't want to go out again? He told me he liked somebody a few weeks ago and I know who it is (not me) so if he has feelings for someone else I don't understand why he'd be acting like this towards me

I'm not either, because I know most people wouldn't be this affectionate towards someone they only saw as a friend, but I also have to wonder if he was telling the truth and he was actually just very tired and thought I was physically comfortable to lay on?
