My best guy friend said he is afraid of losing me!

we are friends for almost 10 months now, and yesterday he was saying that he is afraid that someday he will lose me.. so I asked him if he means to be more than friend, like boyfriend/girlfriend and he said no! but he wants to be sure if he wanted to think about his future he will be able to count on me!

what does that suppose to mean? like before in being in serious relationship, he was talking about marriage? what he meant as LOSING me?!

He cares deeply about your friendship. And he doesn't want to lose that.

He also may like you and want to date, but may be afraid or feel that its not the right time, which is why he freaked out when you asked if he ment like bf/gf. (or he genuinely doesn't want to date you, I can't read his mind)

he was saying that he likes me...but he doesn't want us to be in a relationship more than friendship...he was keeping my hands, but was saying he just think about future! and when I ask him if he means that I might start sating with some1, and he calls that losing me...he said its one of the things might happen!

so I feel confused that what he really meant...like he wants me to be his friend and not dating with anyone till he decides if he wants to be my boyfriend or not?!

Maybe... he could be doing that but that really doesn't make much sense to do.

He should realize that he can't "lose" what he doesn't already have. If you two aren't dating, then you are free to chose, and shouldn't have to wait until he figures things out.

If you don't have anything going on with anyone else, it's okay to give him a little time, but make sure that he knows you won't wait forever.
