Guys say "yay"? Why?

Okay, so the other day a close guy friend of mine (whom I have a crush on) texts me asking if I was going to this bar because a few of our mutual friends were going out. I replied that yes, I was going to be there and then he said "yay" -- I never know if he likes me more than a friend, but this is weird, no?

i'm most likely making something out of nothing... but guys... do you ever use the word "yay"? I hardly ever hear it from a guy...

I think you like him more than just friend that's why you're making something out of nothing..Yay? I think he was just being funny. He's glad that you're coming cause friends likes each others company. but you should him know that you're interested in him, try flirting with him a bit and see if he flirts back. if he doesn't and things get awkward,just laugh likely and pretend you were just joking,lol. Whatever, you are definitely making something out of NOTHING. It's just his quirk. It doesn't mean anything other that he is glad you are going could be just friendly.

Curiosity kills the cat, but it really seems like your agitated as of recently - or at least that's how your answer feels to me. Perhaps there's a softer way to encourage learning, rather than ignorance? After all, if you encourage the QA to learn and experiment, then there will be less questions like these online - saving you the time and her the uncertainty ^_^. Well "Yay" with an exclamation mark would have been a bit much, ha ha (Example: Yay!) It's nothing. I use it sometimes when I'm being sarcastic or trying to be funny. But it probably means he's glad you're coming. That's all.
