Guys, why do you wink at a girl?

This guy smiled as in saying hi and I said hi and then he winked at me. Is it just a friendly gesture, because he's outgoing and friendly to almost everybody. I don't know him too well though but he's nice and he's complimented me before.

A wink is a form of flirtation. Sure, it's cheesy, but some guys do it like that. I do. It could be he's flirting with you because he find you attractive, or it could be because he does that with a lot of people. Sorry, hard to say. But hey, he's complimented you before, so that's a good sign. Treat this as a good thing. Maybe keep it in your mind as a possible sign. Don't rule it out.

I don't use winks, but it's just a way of being flirty and say eh in a playful way I suppose.

i think simply means that he's interested. However if you're saying he's doing it to other girls, he's essentially waiting to see which girl will "bite the hook" and approach him. Make sense?

But he isn't the player type he's a fun type guy. Because he is outgoing with other girls makes me think he does it to everybody, but it seems that sometimes he just looks at me.
