this question is very broad and open for interpretation but my opinion is that there are a lot of companies who use borderline anorexic models for there photo shoots. it can be debated if this is a good or bad thing to society and we can also debate if companies should be held liable for these photo shoots and noramlisation of anorexia.
I think it does. However that doesn't mean you shouldn't try and be healthy. Sure not everyone can have the idea shape the media pushed because people have different body types. So guys and girls are just naturally bigger in general, they hit a point where that literally is there base body structure. Same as those that are skinny and get shamed for that as well.
Yes and no, yes in the fact that it sometimes makes girls who are already fit starve themselves trying to meet unreachable beauty standards while at the same time it also makes people who are unhealthy try to become healthy and be in a good health
Because the visual media has become so deceptive that women's beauty standards have become unrealistic and women want to oppose it. However people found a way to commercialize that too.
there is nothing unrealistic in their bodies, they works for that, the life style is different, and u can never be like them if you never did sacrifice, of course there are fake models, but this doesn't mean that if a girl have for exemple a hourglass body is fake
@RonnyBR oh dear you have absolutely no idea what goes on in the industry, or else you wouldn't tell me that they are 'realistic' no honey they are not. Runways and magazine covers use underage models for adult audience. They use 'body double' to replace one models body part with that of another model. And of course the plastic surgery and Photoshop. The visual media that we get exposed to on a daily basis is NOT realistic. Not even the fitness influencers.
i have no idea? well im a photographer, and i worked with models too, i know which kind of works they do on photos, as for exemple the airbursh, i know that thare are many fake photos, but im talking about models that u can see on tv live, in a runaway etc, don't tell me for exemple that if you see a girl with measurements as 36-24-36 inches / 90-60-90cm can't be natural, is that what i mean (is due to a different life style, 90% of peoples in the world eats trash, don't practice sports, etc.) so they will never reach a healtly shape
oh and don't talk about media or standard, cause today there are many kind of models, skinny, curvy, average, fitness,. So? what about that? the probles is only in the mind of gealous women
@RonnyBR I didn't say that they don't workout at all? Of course they do, it is their job and they get paid for doing that.
I could also get a gym program and personal trainer to get me into that body shape. I could also spend hours to do those exercises. And get a dietician to get my diet, and have regular salon visits to get my hair done and wax my whole body. I could get the best skincare ingredients from all over the world. The question is, who is gonna pay me for doing all that and who is supposed to be paying my bills if that's where I allocate my time instead of my actual career?
And you're aware that many models indeed go to many unhealthy extremes to get to a certain body shape and even take drugs, right?
exactly, u can do that, but don't need to be paid to do a healthly life, the surgery is another thing, and, i know that many models uses drugs too, but usually is doping for females, not cocaine, and lethal drugs, cause female doping help to get a better shape (for exemple if u check out fitness models as Anllela Sagra) i know that cause i heard many personal trainers that talked about female doping, (of course is not healthly, some models do that for money as u said) However, i return to go back to what i was talking about before (we don't need to imitate or hate models for their beauty) and no one said that u must do that, is just what some poples think, u must think with your brain, live healtly, and if u can't reach the physical of your idols, is not a problem, cause there is genetic too, for exemple, latinas have bigger hips, caucasian are taller etc etc. (maybe u can have a bigger brain, so whats matter) avoid the hate or the fake news, if there are models with a body shape like a statue we can't speak bad about them just cause there are other models that have recourse to surgery, there are natural and fake beauties
Media is the first on the list. We can see the changes of the beauty paragon over the decades. Culture is the second one since even Gisele Bundchen was considered ugly by native American tribes the day she was being photographed with them.

To answer the main questions: yes and yes. Also, men always like to bring out how tolerant they are about this, but they aren't lol. Most of the time, they're the most judgmental...
You mean why are *people* obsessed with body image, and the answer is because people want to be seen as physically attractive to other people. Pretty simple.
People are stupid. Doesn't want to take responsibility for their own created demons, cares to much what others comes with and blames were it comes from instead of taking it with a pinch of salt.
The fuck matters what u care or not, i sense simple flattering of ideas u dont actually believe in.. a good toned body will always be more attractive than overweight or too skinny.. be it man or woman. Enough with promoting unhealthy lifestyle.
Society seems to have has created an absurd ideal that very low % of women can obtain, and those who do obtain it have to spend an inordinate amount of time and effort to maintain it.
Guys are too. How often do I tell myself how fat I am putting my srlfvalue lower and lower, just because I'd look normal as a 40year old with that belly but all 19year olds are slim and abs and all that meaningless stuff only ised to attract women.
Not all 19 year old men are slim. You need to give yourself some grace. You know that thinking negatively about yourself is going to make moving forward even harder. Go out and do fun things regardless of how you feel about yourself. Once you are happier then dealing with your weight will be easier. Start making a list of your good points and if you can't think of any ask someone else to name some good things about you. Just don't waste precious minutes of your life beating yourself up when you could be doing something more enjoyable.
That must be very hard on you. The only thing you can control probably is what you eat. Just try to eat the healthiest food that you can. It does make a difference.
I am trying.. but tbh i still often just need some sweet food. Actually i am mostly eating nothing but then I eat noodles with pesto and as I don't move.. bla. it is all actually very logical but I still don't like the (little?) Fat I have...
All bodies are beautiful whether they're skinny or chubby. There is no such thing as perfect body or the definition of beauty and I think the uniqueness of every individual should be embraced more.
There obsessed with body image because society and the media puts so much emphasis on looks and how you should be with stupid dumb shit that no one should care about like thigh gaps

"Why are women obsessed with body Image" Because they're pressured to be.
I agree that media pushes certain beauty standards so people think they have to be a certain way to be pretty when that's not true
Media is the first on the list. We can see the changes of the beauty paragon over the decades. Culture is the second one since even Gisele Bundchen was considered ugly by native American tribes the day she was being photographed with them.

Exactly! Lol how complicated is that?
Couldn't care less.
People are stupid.

Just because someone is skinny or overweight doesn’t mean the aren’t healthy
Oh someone who works hard to b fitter is always more attractive
Everyone is obsessed with their body. It’s natural 🤨
Society seems to have has created an absurd ideal that very low % of women can obtain, and those who do obtain it have to spend an inordinate amount of time and effort to maintain it.
Most guys go for girls with what they called 'perfect' body type.

Well sadly I can't walk at the time being..
That must be very hard on you. The only thing you can control probably is what you eat. Just try to eat the healthiest food that you can. It does make a difference.

The one on the right is most definitely touched up and photoshopped as well

Because women are obsessed with dating a Chad or a Brad...
it is because for a woman to attract a partner, looks are vital. disregard of what media propagates as the standard.
