It wasn't a common thing in the 50's. Those clothing items were what the rockers and gangster youth wore. More commonly, men and boys wore plaid and solid color button up shirts with spread collars and high waist pants.
I know trends come back around all the time but I like 70s/80s/90s clothing like their true authentic clothing though not like the stuff they release now that is inspired by it
@FinalFantasyBro Victorian Era had the frock coat or overcoat during the day paired with a long sleeved high collar shirt, usually with puffy sleeves, and a waistcoat with a rever collar. Typically they had silky patterns and metal buttons. They wore black, brown, tan, or tartan high waist trousers with suspenders as well. Instead of the modern day necktie, they wore an ascot or bowtie. Most men had a top hat or a bowler. Farmers had a peaky hat. Then, for the night, the wealthier men went out in black coattails, white or black bow tie, white vest, and black pants. Poorer folks would've had their one or two outfits and only wore those.
George Washington was around in the Colonial Period which is before Regency and Victorian. But yes, the jackets are similar. The Victorian tailcoat is definitely based upon those ones. The modern suit jacket is based upon the Victorian sack coat and frock coat.
@FinalFantasyBro Precisely. The Victorian Period, or Belle Époque in France, was from 1820 to 1901. It ranges from the beginning of Queen Victoria's reign till her death. After that, the Edwardian era lasted till 1914 when WW1 started.
The 90s and 2000s era or whenever sagging came into style💯

What do you know about the 1950's that leads you to conclude that EVERYONE was racist?
"Despite being nothing more except a racist cesspool..."
You lost me with that very first sentence. What an ignorant statement.
