Why force women to wear these things? They're uncomfortable and look uncomfortable.
Just like modern day foot binding or something but if women like it then who am I to complain to each their own.
Why force women to wear these things? They're uncomfortable and look uncomfortable.
Should see what the men did to the women in Asia 👀 those feet were in their own civil war with the shoes and toes.
I’m not sure who invented the heel. It probably starts with them.
There was a period of 2- inch heels. Those were appreciated but also sometimes a hassle.
They are called HEELS for a reason.
I’m not sure why even men shoes have centimeter-high heels. It makes no sense to me?
Later on, heels were said to make a woman look longer in her legs and height. A slender tone.
More feminine or alluring.
Why does any shoe have heels? Thank you to whoever created the sneaker 👟 🙏 lol
I’m not sure but I think the answer is just too broad? Maybe once it was oppression but now women have the choice to wear what they want? Many girls did that thing of Sneakers as school dances?
A popular shoe newer to the shoe industry is the wedge sneaker. I think now in this point of time it depends on each girl individually.
I DONT wear heels because I simply don’t know how and they hurt my toe tendons or whatever lmao my BUNYUNS 😂
So I wear flats 🥿 or wedge heels. I only own one pair of wedge heels and flats. I’m a sneaker person and boot person. 👢 🥾
Thanks for your comment
I don't like them all. I can't not look at them without picturing a broken leg or twisted. I fell down the stairs the last I wore a pair which is why I don't wear them anymore.
Calm your tits... they oppress themselves. I think men don't really give a shit. They (the women) want taller men so they try to be taller by coming up with a way to stand on their toes.
Original high heels were worn by men and it was so you could hook your feet in on a horse's stirrups. Well, horses are out and cars are here, as are these women still doing it and making it excessive just like some of them do with breast and butt implants. Like almost always, they create their own problems because of their inert desire to attract attention.
Once men wore high heels as a means to stay in the saddle during combat. But we gave it up as 'a bad thing'. The only ones who are continually bringing back the high heel for women are the 'Fashion Industry', they are the ones who seem to hate women and their form by inflicting designs on women that damage them, footwear and corsetry to name but two.

It’s not oppressive I just like the option to sometimes be taller lol
Feels more confident and superior I think. Those two are quite important feelings.😄
It's only oppression when the woman chooses to wear them. No one forces anyone to wear them. Yep, they're uncomfortable, but they sure look hot, don't they?
The look is the whole point. If you want comfort, there are an endless number of tennis, birkenstocks, merrills and more that look goofy, but are comfortable and supportive.
It has been said that "a man will endure any garbage (clothing) as long as it is comfortable. A woman will wear endure any discomfort as long as it is fashionable.
@Massageman Well, that's SOME women. When younger, I wore crazy heels until I broke my foot walking in the French Quarter at age 23 in some kind of super-high heels. So, no more of that silliness. Pumps at most. And always bring a pair of flats to change into.
But you simply can't deny the sexiness of ridiculous shoes for women. Only in the 1700s did men have crazy heels that made their butts stick out as well as their chests... the point of women wearing high heels... to look more sexually provocative.
The sexually provocative look is created from the imbalance in the posture of the individual when the heels are worn. Think of your body as a series of hinge joints which- ideally- are stacked rather evenly up the body. The heels throw this straight line out of geometric whack, but creates the protruding butt, chest, etc. Carol Burnett was a master to "that look" when she did her ditzy secretary skits with Tim Conway as Mr. Tuddball - for those who need a visual reference.
@Massageman oh haha makes sense when you put it that way
Yes and high heels also lengthen the "Look" of the leg, as well as the butt/chest protrusion thing. And usually heels are made to look skimpy and sexy, as if underwear for the feet.
Ugh... I don't think anyone is really forcing us to wear those. A lot of us actually buy and wear heels on our own accord if we want to. I just bought some heels but only for a photo shoot I just did, other than that I really don't wear heels at all. They uncomfortable to me most of the time, I usually wear regular shoes. Women who still wear heels do it for the look or fashion or it could heels dont bother their feet. I will admit I've seen some pretty cute heels and if I could wear them I would but I prefer comfort. A lot of women these days are actually getting away from wearing heels and wearing more sneakers or boots.
Well this leads into the question of free will because is it free will if you've been influenced to do such things by everyone around you making it normal rather than you just wanting to do it.
If we go by this it is oppressive in that sense. Same way it's normal for burkas to be worn in countries so girls grow up thinking that's normal when it's actually oppressive influence to do something the other Sex likes.
So I would agree it's oppressive but if you've been brought up to think it's normal, your gonna need a unique perspective to think it's not normal.
Another comparison would be for guys with been into football it's a big imposed thing by society therefore it is oppressive but if you've been brought up to think that's normal you aren't gonna see it. So one could argue most football fans are not fans by choice but by social norms.
Nobody keeps us on gun point to wear heels.. stylish women wear heels because it's like an accessory to the outfit it completes the look and those who fail to choose the right kind of heel according to their foot shape find it difficult to walk in them also the ones who are not habitual of it
I don’t wear them at all but not because they’re “a sign of oppression”. It’s because they’re just plain bad for the feet and body as a whole. And I don’t need to be any taller than I already am.
Anyways, nobody is FORCED to wear them. Don’t know where you got that idea from.
Well culture and stuff
I have never felt pressured to wear heels.
Well it’s not just about you but whatever
I can only speak for myself. I guess I could say that there is no pressure to wear heels, for anybody.
high heels aren't oppressive.
why do you think women never wear them unless they are going on a date?
go out on the street and look at how many women wear high heels going to the market or walking their dog or going to work? practically few to none
Unless you are in Europe
@orangecherry True, Europeans do dress more upscale than here, especially in Italy.
@Bricealan
Im sure most europeons dont wear high heels everywhere.
@Bricealan
even walking down 4 blocks on stilettos can be a chore. you will not get to work on time if you want to walk to work on stilettos. you will not be able to catch the bus on stilettos.
the only time where wearing stilettos is warranted is when you need to get up to use the bathroom down the hall or walk to the kitchen to make yourself a cup of coffee. if it is anything else, it will be a chore and it will negatively impact your feet.
@Bricealan what many women do is they walk to work in flat shoes then they switch to heels when they get to their office
High heels are powerful. They change a person’s perception of you instantly in a corporate business world. They also just do fucken beautiful, they also make your legs and butt look better and you can look eye to eye with people instead of have to look up at every one
Who is forcing them to? I think they know what they are doing. Throwing their spine out and having stress fractures in their toes are not part of their plan.
I didn't answer because both choice are wrong. No one forces us to wear high hills and normally I don't. However, like in this photo I have because I was a special event.
those are cute
@orangecherry They are not really high heels so after a little practice I managed.
I can see the relationship to foot binding which obviously was horrible, but there is a huge difference. Foot binding was forced on babies and children that didn't have any choice. High heels are choices older teens and adults are free to make. I feel certain that if babies and young children were giving a choice they would have chosen to avoid foot binding.
If having the OPTION to wear ludicrously uncomfortable shoes counts as "oppression" to you, than frankly, you haven't been oppressed enough. Slavery is oppression. Most manifestations of religious intolerance are oppression. Communism is oppression. High heels are, at worst, conspicuous consumption.
But that's assuming women are FORCED to wear them, which they're not. Women are adults- they can say "no".
But they make squatting to give a BJ so much easier.
Used to sell 'em. They are sexy for sure, and I wouldn't worry too much about all the health problems they can cause unless a person wears them frequently...
But they are more than capable of causing back problems, shortening leg tendons and a host of foot problems if worn too frequently over a long period of time.
I mean me and the lads really get off emotionally on the power trip we just walk around in big gangs of men hunting down women and replacing their shoes.
If we feel really sadistic we put on the Gucci or Prada.
But really I don’t thing guys are going around trying to force women to wear them.
Feel free to replace all my shoes with Gucci and Prada! 🎉
In the broad scope of things, they are not "forced" to wear them. As for looks, wearing a high heel forces the wearer to contract their gastrocnemius (calf) muscle more, giving a nice, sexy mini-bulge to their lower leg, instead of a "pencil-leg".
High heeled shoes may make the legs look good, but they are definitely not good to wear all the time.
Personally, I love to see a woman in high heels, as it makes their legs and overall look that much more chic. If worn along with hose, her legs can be spectacular when wearing very class high heels, AS LONG as it doesn't cause her lower back pain or problems walking for shorter distances.
High heels were originally invented for men and women decided to start wearing them in the 50's. Nobody forced women to wear them and many men initially tried to ban women from wearing them when they first started coming into fashion.
I don’t think high heels are attractive, I think most women look just fine without makeup and I really don’t like false eye lashes or tattoos. I’m not oppressing anyone who chooses to make herself uncomfortable. She’s not doing it for me.
I have never worn them. Only sneakers and combat boots. I don't see the point of being in pain for fashion.
i can't get over how silly option B sounds out of context
