If pretty privilege for women is real, should women invest a lot in their appearance? (Page 2)

I believe people regardless of their genre just for being a human being have inherent dignity and value. However, I have noticed that over the past years, or maybe I'm just now more "in the real world" and have noticed people place a lot of importance on how a woman looks. Also, this has been more prevalent in women than men, at least from my experience. I'm curious, from your view is it pretty privileged for women, should women invest a lot in their appearance? If so why?
