How can I stop flirting with my ex?

I broke up with my boyfriend about a month ago for many reasons. He took it really hard, but recently we started being friends again. We were texting the other day and he kinda starting flirting with me and I was encouraging him and flirting back. I feel really bad because I know I don't want him back and I really don't want to hurt him again, but I just can't stop myself.

well sounds like you really care about your ex even though that he's not your boyfriend. and that's good! personally you should just stop having any connection with him til you are for sure that he doesn't have any feelings for you ifnits that you don't want to hurt him. or just tell him straight up to not flirt with you and if he doesn't change when you two talk then TRY to change the subject when he flirts with you. I think that's the simplist thing you can do.

just stop flirting with your ex and you'll be fine. have you moved on and dont' like him anymore or you just doing this for attention?

you need to tell him straight up that you are sorry for encouraging him to flirt back, that when you broke up with him you ment it and if he wants to be friends you can be him friend, but nothing more. then you need to find a hot guy distraction or something so you will quit flirting with your ex. just learn to control yourself. remember why you broke up with him and you shouldnt have a problem.
