Why did he text me after ignoring me for weeks?

I met this guy in late November and we became "more than friends". We didn't become official because it was long distance, but we did meet up a couple of times, and we texted and talked pretty much every day. Then starting in early January he started having "phone problems" and I wouldn't hear from him for days at a time, and he never tried to contact me through any other form such as Facebook or e-mail, and I didn't hear from him for a few weeks. Then towards the end of January he texted me and said his phone was fixed, and he texted me all day like he used to, then I never heard from him after that. I tried getting in touch with him a few times, but nothing. Then today I woke up with a text from him in my inbox (first time I have heard from him in a long time) and it just said, "Hey you awake?" I texted back and said "sorry I just saw your text, what's up?" and I have yet to hear from him. I am so confused...what is going on here?

Is there a chance he meant to send that text to someone else, and sent it to me by mistake?

Just so y'all know he called me and made some lame excuse, apologized for being distant, promised he would never do it again, and I haven't heard from him since.

Im gonna say he got in the mood. If I were you I would just delete his number, guys like this seem to only want one thing, and guys aren't worth wasting our time if sex is all they want. I'm sure you could find someone much closer that you cuold connect with better, and not have to worry about not talking to him whenever he feel s like it. keep looking, lol.

Honestly... it sounds like a booty call. When he texted ''hey you awake?'' in the middle of the night he most likely got in the mood, popped a boner, and wanted to see what you were doing. The next day after you texted him that you missed his text he probably didn't answer cause he wasn't in the mood anymore. I'm sorry :(

Most likely not..... I have been in his situation before and so have ALOT of other guys. You chill you get bored and you get curious and horny and that's when guys text girls seeing what they are up to for that one purpose and nothing else. It's kinda a scum bag way to get laid but it works most of the time. If you don't mind being his ''f*** buddy'' then do it but it sounds like he doesn't want to date. His loss if that's the case.
