Do men reject women that they actually like?

Just a general question. Would a guy reject a girl that he actually has some feelings for? Even if he has just a small crush on her? If so, why would he reject her even if she expressed interest in him?

Just to keep it a little simpler, this guy does not have a girlfriend or wife and he is straight.

This, is depend on a nice guy type. I admit I pushed a girl away once because I was:

1. Very nervous when talking to a girl that I like and ended up don't know what to say or said something stupid.

2. Made very lame jokes and just making her thinks that I'm weird.

I can't say for other guys but since I am a really nice guy, I tend to do these things in a worst way :( and ended up pushing the girl far away instead of impressing her.

Well he could be shy and feels a little intimidated. Usually when feeling intimidated by someone the natural thing to do is stay away from that person. Though, my question to you is, did he actually tell you he liked you? Only reason I'm asking, is I'm wondering if possibly his friends are setting both of you up and he truly only sees you as a friend. This may explain why he may seem distant or awkward to you.

I'm kinda experiencing a situation that has me asking the same thing. It's hard to say without a little back story... have you been involved before and what was the outcome? Is he a game player? Insecure? Any details would help.

For certain he is insecure, it's a little annoying actually. I don't think he is a game player but he does like attention. He does all of these actions that many of my male friends say "Yes, he definitely likes you. No doubt." But when I made a move, he basically said he just wants to remain friends.

If he is really insecure, it is a possibility. I've dealt with guys who had an impossible time admitting that they liked me- it was like pulling teeth. I had to profess my love for them over and over before they begrudgingly admitted it. It takes guts to open yourself up to somebody like that, and people that aren't used to it, or are unsure for any reason may not only lie about it to you, but to themselves as well.

yes. one becuase she won't put out. two because she is in a different crowd. three becasue she isn't that hott but he is still attracted to her . and four because she is a bitch but she is a hott bitch!

Yes it can happen, I have knocked back girls for all sorts of reasons even though I liked them, like to close to home, work, don't like her friends or past bfs, etc lots of other reasons...
