Sorry for the long message, but there’s a long backstory.

This guy used to like me, I think, but that was around 5 months ago. We haven’t really talked since, we never really talked though, and we got each other’s Snapchat a couple days ago through a friend (she is very good friends with the both of us, and I was there so we just shared Snapchats, it was very casual). Now that we have each other’s Snapchats, we just send normal snaps that we would send to others to each other, so like half of our faces. Yesterday night, he snapchatted “hey” at like 11 when we were just casually sending normal snaps back and forth, so I answered “hi”. He then just sent his hand waving and the rest was just normal snaps back and forth. What was that all about? This guy snapchats me and he normally answers like in 5-10 minutes, and so so do I. Sometimes he answers in 30 minutes which is completely normal. However, today I didn’t open his snap and instead snapped other people for like an hour, and then opened and answered his snap. After that, he opened my snap but hasn’t answered for almost 9 hours. What’s going on? And what are some signs he is flirting with me through Snapchat? If there's one thing I'd tell girls is this: There's a difference between wanting to be pursued and being passive. But that doesn't mean that you have to be completely passive and never text him first, never call him first, and never up the ante first.

When girls are passive like that, when they never reach out to me, I start to worry that they're just using me as a compliment ATM, and don't actually find me personally interesting or attractive or simpatico at all.

I ghosted a girl because she never called me first. I ran into her later and she was upset. SO much upset about it that I felt really bad, it was so surprising.

You say this guy "used to like" me. Okay, well looks like you're a little bit selfish here. If you actually want something out of this, you need to put yourself out there more. Stop thinking about "does he actually like me, or maybe he just thinks I'm hot" or whatever, and actually engage and flirt.
