I have a guy friend that I have been friends with for about two years. Long story short, we have always gotten along really well and after one drunken night together we ended up hooking up. I didn't really think he thought anything anything of it but he ended up asking our mutual friend what I thought of him and the whole situation. Things got a little awkward after but we were fine and a little while later we hooked up again. He was really nice about it and invited me out to brunch with his roommates the next day. Ever since, his roommates and best friends have been telling me we should date and that we would be a perfect couple. They even then sent me a message off his facebook (so I thought it was him) asking me to go for drinks and I said I would because I thought it would be fun but then he awkwardly responded and said it wasn't actually him. Why do his friends insist we should date? What does that mean?
Most likely they have no relationships themselves. They see potential in the relationship they see between you two and if they can participate in that being a success then it will make them feel like they have accomplished something.
Could that sound more like a psychologist?
Anyway. Their lives suck so they want to see someone else be happy.
