Guy friend who used to have a crush on me sends DMB “Crash” to listen to... does he still have feelings?

It’s been numerous years since my guy friend and I have been in person together. We have been DMing and texting a lot lately and he sends me the Dave Matthew’s Band song “Crash” as a song that explains him really well. That song is all about unrequited desire for a woman (in the song, a peeping Tom looking through a woman).

I know he used to have a significant crush on me (I did not know that at the time... I was informed of this later by mutual acquaintances). Should I read into this? It’s not the only song about unrequited feelings he sent me...

Does he know you know about his crush towards you?

And just putting this out there. It's hard for someone to get over a big crush like that if they're still taking too that person often. Just makes you like them more, so if he liked you before good chance he likes you now, which in your case seems like he actually is sending those particular songs on purpose, but it all depends on if he knows that you know

I don’t know if he knows that I know. In hindsight, it should have been obvious, but I had a lot of self esteem issues then and never noticed or believed it when someone liked me unless the person was extremely direct about it.

He is on vacation RN and he sent me a post card.

We had a lengthy period where we did not see each other or stay in much contact. When we first got back in contact on social media six years later, He asked me “so are you married yet?” And in the years since he has randomly messaged me here and there, including once to get together when he came through town. He stopped when he got a girlfriend but then a little after they broke up, he resumed periodic messages. When I reached out, the contact that sparked us talking a lot lately, I asked him if I could run an idea by him and he texted back “I am never to busy for you OP.” I don’t think anyone has ever said that to me.

So I think there is still something.
