There is a girl at work that I like, I have been friendly, fun and non clingy but flirty. I told her the other day that I appreciated her and she said thanks. She is a good looking girl, what attracted her to me was she is smart, intelligent, caring, confident, have a good sense of humor and kind. We speak almost every day, today I told her about some work that had to be done by her and the bad news that I had done the work for her. She punched me in the arm with a smile on her face. I dont know how I should take that, maybe I am reading things into it that are not there. I would not know how to escalate beyond flirting if she does like me. Yes, I suck chasing women

I don't like the idea of dating our colleagues very much; don't shit where you eat, you know. But I think it helps to play more and escalate. If she punches you in the arm you can smack her hip (not like an ass grab, mind you) or push her with your hips. One of my favorite moves is just to start shoving women next to me with my hip. Just push them away really hard. But you can probably come up with your own ways to escalate.

If you copy my hip-shove move -- like you are just standing next to her and just shove her with your hip -- she might return to you and close the distance again and then you can reach out a hand and hold her hand.

The only thing you have to watch out for when escalating is making her feel uncomfortable. It's not a problem if she doesn't like you to play with her, and she might even start to like you more for playing with her anyway. The only thing you have to be careful not to do is making her feel very uncomfortable.
