How can I convince this older woman to date me?

I am trying to date my older neighbor, but I am having some resistance. I have taked to her a couple of times and she has even given me her number. I have called her three times; The first two she didn't pick up and the third she did. However, when I asked her out on a date she claimed to be too busy with her kids. Iam going to try one last time next week because her kids are going to start school next week. I'm going to call her next week. My question is whaat are the things that I should tell her to convince her to give me a chance?

You can't convince someone to go out with you. Maybe she just gave you her number to be polite? Sometimes guys have put me into uncomfortable situations where I felt obligated to give them my number. I think she is trying to blow you off. Plus I'd watch it, it sounds like she's quite a bit older and you don't want things to get around that you are harassing an older woman and her children. All you can do is call her once more and ask if she wants to go out. If she says no or makes up an excuse then just move on.

Maybe. Try calling after the kids start school -- NOT on the week school starts (bc things are still crazy). Call her the week after school starts. Make sure she's not saying yes to rush you off the phone while she's breathless dashing between soccer practice and little league.

What do you have to offer this woman? If you have things about yourself that she can benefit from, as in personality traits, then itl be much easier to be confident.
