There is this girl I have known since August and she is just great. I talk to her mostly in class but I think I am in love for the first time. I have never felt like this about a girl before and it isn't that I want her its that I feel I need her. I normally can talk to girls no problem but I'm scared to ask her out because I don't want to say the wrong thing and lose her. I'm literally in physical pain and have feelings of happiness and sadness at the same time. I can't stop thinking about her, what should I do?

Calm down and realize you should stop putting her over a pedestal. Your infatuation with her is 100% mental and you created it all by yourself. And if it's mental, you have some control over it. Sure it's easier said then done.. But you just need to take a breather. When you obsess over a girl, you tend to overlook her flaws and be too forgiving. Also, you can start being clingy(obvious turn off), over analyze over the smallest things and freak out if things don't go your way.

Best thing you can do is

1. Find ways/activities to keep her off your mind 24/7. Really, it does help you think more rationally of the situation and less inclined to do stupid things. And when things go bad, if they do, it won't hit you too hard and you'll recover faster.

2. Have confidence in yoursel fand everything you do.. If you like her, then ask her to hang out with you. Don't expect her to do that for you, because most girls don't initiate (even if they do happen to like you back) Simple as that. Everyone is nervous about dating and rejection. But if you want to go far with someone and can really see spending the rest of your life with them, you have to risk that in order to take the relationship to the next level or end up being friend zoned for life and wonder what could have happened.

Life is all about taking risks. That's what dating is all about really. Putting yourself out there and then putting in the time and effort (once you get to know them) to maintain them.

Don't be the guy kicking yourself over not making a move on her because you're too afraid to. Everyone is.. But hey, millions of guys did it, what makes you think you can't yourself?

Don't listen to these people. Too many did and don'ts I just added one but start over. This is pretty simple. If the attraction is this strong, you WILL get hurt and VERY badly. Swear off girls. Practice enjoying peace of mind. Just be with yourself and notice you're doing exactly what you want. Nobody's got some spell over you. You're free. You will never be free when a girl rules your life. And she is already. It hurts already. That means "just forget her". If you 2 got close you'd never know your own feelings again, except the ones of confusion, trying to figure out the enormous amount of contradiction and there's always the "Men are peeps, women are victims." If you ever hear anything that resembles this, run and never look back except to be grateful you dodged a bunch of huge bullets. Which ones? You don't even need to be concerned about which ones. THAT'S PEACE OF MIND. It literally is the most precious thing in the universe and it only takes letting go.
I've been in your condition. Hormones. They lie. The only purpose they serve is to continue the species and nowadays, if you could eliminate 7.5 billion of us, the planet might survive. Opinions vary. Point is that hormones are drugs. Your mind on drugs looks like a sunny side up. Just enjoy the eggs, leave the table and watch something educational. Try reading The Autobiography of a Yogi. It's good and easy to read. Good books will keep your mind off procreation and on how we can clean up the planet, clean the rivers, pay those with the oxygen resources to save the rainforest and jungles on Earth. Saving the earth is cheaper than the makeup industry's annual budget.
In conclusion, the feelings you feel tell you a lot about yourself. The only way to know what they really mean is to quiet your mind and heart. From that perspective, you begin to not be in pain over your love interests. Become interested in the big picture and do something about it. Then, you'll become the type of man women go for and you'll either have great friends or a place to be enslaved by the desires of your female master, or you'll see other men fall while you can just laugh at the view. Find a healthy mate. They like healthy mates. Be healthy.
