Can you tell if a guy likes you by the way he hugs you??

i have this friend and I really like him, he always hugs me and there not the pat on the back friend hugs either. he holds me first a little tightly and then tighter and its usaully waaay longer then most hugs I would get off my other guy friends...funny thing is he only hugs me like that when its just the two of us! can you tell if a guy likes you by the way he hugs you?

Chances are he does like you, the reason he might not hug you the same way when other people are around is probably that he doesn't want people thinking he does like you at the moment. talk to him if you two really are close then even if he doesn't like you in that way (seems he does) then I doubt it would affect your friendship.

You have to be careful though, If he hugs you in a certain way it means he wants to sell you to ISIS.

Hugs tell alot. I think that he actually might be into you by the way it sounds except for the part about when its just the two of you. You should see if that changes when other people are around and if not then he might be shy to confess to you infront of friends that he likes you.

He probably has some interest in you but like lauren-e said you should see how he acts in front of others. but you can def tell if a guy likes you from hugs especially when they last longer, and if he ever just comes up from behind and hugs you as well

I mean guys don't tend to hug girls they don't like, unless he's playing you a little in which case, if he knows you'll let him, he will.
