My female friend keeps complimenting me, is she thinking of something else?

Just another sign of friend-zone or is she thinking something else? Lately, she's been saying stuff like how, if I was gone, she'd miss me and that she's really glad I'm still there, etc. We're not really that much of friends (we don't talk about personal stuff or any of that, just run into each other and talk at university). We generally tease each other in conversations and she has no problem hitting my shoulder or calling me mean or something to that effect.

Problem is, based on what I've read, these are either signs she's interested or signs that she's too comfortable with me and I'm a man-friend. If I'm a man-friend, it's all right, but if she's interested in me, well, I'd consider her.

She's probably interested slightly. But saying you'd 'consider' her makes me think that you think you're settling. If that's the case then you shouldn't do anything because she deserves someone who thinks she's awesome, and is already thinking of making a move.

no, I think she's awesome. But because we've been "friends" for a while now and I've had bad luck with girls recently, I'm just trying to protect myself.

Based only on the fact that she told you she'd miss you - I think she likes you. Cause with guy friends who I joke with, I wouldn't make a point of saying I miss them - it'd probably go down as me saying something like: thank god I don't have to see your face for the next ___ weeks/days/etc. as a joke of course lol. When she says flirty stuff like that I think the best thing for you to do at this point (since you aren't ready to risk anything yet), is be super flirty in return.

What signs have you been seeing that makes you think you are just a guy friend?

when she said that, I gave a cocky reply, "everyone wants more of this", because she thinks that's funny, so I made her laugh.

In terms of why I think I'm just a guy friend: she touches me a lot, or at least more than she does with her other friends, and some people say that's because she feels too comfortable with me. Second, when I first met her, she had a boyfriend (though not anymore)...maybe she automatically put me in friends territory because of that.

I think her being comfortable around you is definitely not a bad thing -suggests you guys are close. It can suggest that she's way too comfortable around you to like you as more, but it can also be seen as her way of trying to hint it to you that she likes you - especially since she's not that way with others. I don't think you should read too much into it. Your second concern isn't logical. If she likes you and feels a connection between you two, then she'll definitely be open to your advances.

I would also like to say that she doesn't seem concerned if I talk to other girls. I don't know, if she was interested, maybe she'd be a little bit concerned. And we don't really text or talk on the phone and stuff.
